How to configure the Siemens WinCC Unified Runtime for use with the HTTP Service

The Siemens WinCC Unified Runtime can be used in combination with the IXON HTTP service to easily access its web server without first needing to set up a VPN connection. It requires some configuration changes to work with relative paths instead of absolute paths.

1. On the Siemens WinCC Unified Runtime device install SIMATIC User Management Component (UMC) V2.0.
2. Change the file C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\WinCCUnified\config\config.level.
   • Change the Url to the relative path /umc-sso/.
3. Change the file C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\WinCCUnified\SimatiUA\config.json.
   • Delete the IP address from dnsname.
4. Change the file C:\Program Files\Siemens\LocalUserManagement\etc\umcd.cfg.
   • Delete the IP addresses from the paths so that only the relative paths remain at idpAddress, idpAuthSite and idpAddress.
5. Change the file C:\Program Files\Siemens\UserManagement\WEB\umc-sso\config\configuration.json.
   • Change UMCDllFolderPath to "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Usermanagment\BIN".
6. Open regedit and go to folder Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Siemens\User Management\WebUI\Settings.
   • Change the registry value of ipaddress to /umc-sso/.
7. Restart the IPC.
