If you want to configure multiple devices in a similar manner, you can do so easily by using device templates. By loading a device template to a device, you can import all settings from the device template to the device.
Create and edit a device template
You'll first need to create a device template. You can create a blank template or create a template from an existing device.
- Go to Fleet Manager > Devices templates.
- Click on
Add template.

Create new.
- Enter a Name and the Device type you want to create a template for.
- Click on

Create from registered device.
- Enter a Name and select the Device you want to create a template off.

Load a device template to a device
When you have configured your device template, you can apply it to a device. Applying a template to a device cannot be undone.
- Go to Fleet Manager > Devices and click on your device name.
- In the left menu, go to
More.
- Under Load device template, click on Load device template.
- Select the device template you would like to load and individually select which settings from the template you wish to load to the device (details below). Note that templates are not cross-type compatible. For example, you cannot load a template of an IXrouter2 to an IXrouter3.
Setting Details Custom fields All custom fields on the device will be overwritten by the custom fields from the template.
Custom fields that are entered on the device, but are empty in the template, will be cleared.LAN settings All settings available on the settings page Network > LAN. Firewall settings All settings available on the settings page Network > Firewall. Pages and cards All settings available on the settings page View. VPN, VNC, HTTP, WebSocket services All services (VPN, VNC, HTTP, WebSocket) on the device will be overwritten by the services from the template.
Services that are on the device, but not in the template, will be removed.Data sources All data sources on the device will be overwritten by the data sources from the template. To prevent potential data loss, make sure that you read the full text below.
Historical data is removed when its tag is removed. To prevent a tag from being removed, the identifiers of the tag, corresponding variable, corresponding log trigger (if applicable), and corresponding data source need to be the same on the device as in the template.
If any of the above mentioned identifiers is different on the device than in the template, the tag will be removed and the tag's historical data will be removed as well.
